Join the call

for international guidance on human rights and healthy diets

In October 2019, 180  leaders in global health and development made a call on Tedros Adhanom, Director General of the World Health Organization, and Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to lead the development of human rights guidance on healthy diets and sustainable food systems.

Published in the BMJ, the call requests the initiation of a process to develop guidance on human rights and healthy diets and outlines why a human rights approach to healthy diets is sorely needed to advance action on NCDs and health.

To support the realization of this call, the signatories have proposed a set of guiding documents.
